Comelec to monitor voter registration
MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) is deploying five teams to closely monitor voter registration activities for the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) polls set in October 2023.
“We will be deploying five Registration Monitoring Teams (RMTs) in the Office of Election Officers,” Comelec spokesman John Rex Laudiangco said.
Laudiangco noted that the RMTs will be deployed to Valenzuela City, Caloocan City, Taguig City , San Jose del Monte City, Bulacan, and Imus City, Cavite.
Voter registration nationwide for the barangay and SK election is set to resume today and end on Jan. 31.
But Laudiangco said there will be no registration on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.
Voter registration will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., from Mondays to Saturdays, including holidays, at the Office of the Election Officer of the city, municipality or district where the applicant resides.
Comelec is also holding satellite registration of voters in every barangay within its jurisdiction in public places, such as barangay halls or centers; public and private schools and universities; malls and commercial establishments and other public and convenient places.
