MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has, as of yesterday afternoon, released a total of P59.52 million to 25,225 beneficiaries of educational assistance nationwide.
In a Viber message, DSWD assistant secretary Romel Lopez revealed that P27.39 million of the amount was distributed to 6,848 college/vocational student-beneficiaries, P11.148 million to 3,716 senior high school student-beneficiaries and another P12.625 million to 6,306 other high school students.
Lopez also said that 8,355 elementary student-beneficiaries got P8.355 million of the total fund for educational assistance.
The official described the distribution of educational assistance payout nationwide as generally peaceful and orderly.
