MANILA, Philippines — Damage to infrastructure due to the 7.0-magnitude quake that rocked northern Luzon last week has risen to over P700 million, the National Disaster Risk and Reduction Management Council reported on Monday.
In its latest sitrep, the NDRRMC said it logged 1,084 damaged infrastructure in the Ilocos, Cagayan, Central Luzon regions, and the Cordillera Administrative Region and the National Capital Region.
Damage is estimated to have reached P704.5 million.
Agriculture damage due to quake meanwhile is pegged at P13.96 million, while the National Irrigation Administration reported one damaged infrastructure costing P4.5 million.
Three roads remain impassable days after the quake, the NDRRMC also reported.
The NDRRMC also logged a total of 24,901 damaged houses in four regions, 354 of them categorized as "totally wrecked".
Meanwhile death toll remains at ten, with nine of the fatalities validated and one still for verification.
The number of injured persons rose to 394, with 18 reported hurt for validation.
The quake affected 100,665 families or 381,614 persons in the Ilocos, Cagayan and Cordillera Administrative Regions. Of these, 1,070 families or 3,781 persons have been displaced and are seeking temporary shelter at 40 evacuation centers.
Some 12,637 affected families or 46,733 persons are staying outside the evacuation centers.
The government has so far released P25.2 million in assistance to affected families in CAR and Ilocos region.
