MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Sara Duterte has wished for the quick recovery of President Marcos from COVID-19.

“I offer my earnest prayers for the fast recovery of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., who tested positive for COVID-19,” she said in a statement on Friday night.

“May God continue to bless him with good health as he leads the country,” she added.

Malacañang on Friday announced that Marcos has again tested positive for COVID-19 in an antigen test.

The President, who first contracted the viral illness in 2020, is manifesting mild symptoms and is currently under isolation.

Duterte presided over a meeting with local government officials on behalf of Marcos, who attended virtually.

According to Marcos, among topics discussed were plans to roll out booster doses and the planned full implementation of face-to-face classes later this year.
