Pray for honest, orderly, peaceful elections – Sara
MANILA, Philippines — Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (CMD) vice presidential candidate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte urged Filipinos yesterday to pray for honest, orderly and peaceful elections on May 9.
At the same time, Duterte called for unity among all sectors of society, regardless of political color, behind the winning candidates.
She made the twin appeals in remarks before Bulakeños at the Jesus Christ the Deliverer Church in Guiguinto, Bulacan, where she and her presidential standard-bearer former senator Ferdinand Marcos Jr. also paid a courtesy call on Bishop Ted Malangen.
“We only have two prayer items. First is we should ask God to protect our vote and pray for honest, orderly, peaceful elections para sa ating bansa,” Duterte told the crowd.
“Second, since our politics is so divisive, we pray that we will be united in peace as we recover from the pandemic. This is what we pray for – peace and unity for our country,” Duterte said as she thanked Bulakeños for their support.
