MANILA, Philippines — Aksyon Demokratiko vice presidential candidate Dr. Willie Ong maintained that he has no ill feelings toward senatorial candidate John Castriciones who is supporting Ong’s rival.

“I gave unconditional support to Sec. John. Whatever is his decision, that is fine with me,” he said in Filipino during a campaign rally in Santiago City, Isabela.

He bared his admiration for the efforts of Castriciones, a former agrarian reform secretary, in distributing lands to farmers.

“I am very happy, he is a very good person,” he said, noting that President Duterte has also endorsed Castriciones’ Senate bid.

The Mayor Rodrigo Roa Duterte National Executive Coordinating Committee, which Castriciones heads, endorsed the candidacies of Aksyon Demokratiko standard bearer and Manila Mayor Isko Moreno for president and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio for vice president.

Castriciones thanked Ong for his kindness, and went on to praise him for his compassion for the poor and marginalized.

Moreno, Ong, Castriciones and Aksyon senatorial bets Jopet Sison, Carl Balita and Samira Gutoc met with crowds in Santiago City, despite Ong having a splinter on his left hand. He, his wife Dr. Liza Ramoso-Ong, and three others fell off their campaign truck during a previous motorcade in Bataan.
