Philippines, Israel discuss direct flights, recognition of vaxx certificates
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines and Israel discussed the launching of direct flights to boost two-way tourism for both countries and the mutual recognition of vaccination certificates for travelers.
Israel Tourism Minister Yoel Razvozov met with Philippine Ambassador to Israel Macairog Alberto at the Ministry of Tourism in Jerusalem.
During the meeting, Razvozov and Alberto discussed the great potential of both Philippines and Israel to see tourists in each country.
“It was a pleasure meeting the Ambassador of the Philippines to Israel H.E. Alberto. I raised the importance of launching direct flights and mutual recognition of vaccination certificates for our travelers,” Razvozov said.
According to Israel Ministry of Tourism, around 34,000 Filipinos visited Israel in 2019.
The Department of Tourism said 22,851 Israelis visited the Philippines.
Israel reopened its borders to vaccinated foreign tourists on Jan. 9, 2022.
Philippine passport holders are visa-free in Israel for 90 days.
