MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health on Wednesday reported 9,868 more coronavirus cases to bring the country's caseload to 2,622,917. 

Today's numbers saw active cases up by 9,730 from the 103,077 on October 5. The Department of Health said two laboratories did not submit screening results. 

No deaths were reported again today due to technical issues in DOH's COVIDKaya system.

  • Active cases: 112,807 or 4.3% of the total

  • Recoveries: 133 bringing the number to 2,471,282

  • Deaths: N/A, or still at 38,828 

Limited return to classrooms set on November 15

  • The Department of Education announced that the pilot run on face-to-face classes will begin on November 15, with 59 public schools selected so far. 

  • Official data showed there are now 22.40 million Filipinos complete with their COVID-19 shots, out of the government's target of up to 70 million this year. 

  • Leadership of the Philippine National Police told its regional and provincial directors to deploy enough personnel on the last days of the filing of certificate of candidacy to prevent COVID-19 suprespreader events.
