8 ambassadors, 12 other DFA officials confirmed

MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Appointments (CA) has confirmed the nominations of eight Philippine ambassadors and the promotion of 12 other officials of the Department of Foreign Affairs.

Confirmed nominations for ambassador were Noralyn Jubaira Baja for South Africa (with concurrent jurisdiction over Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe), Eduardo Eco Kapunan Jr. for Germany, Junever Mahilum-West for France (with concurrent jurisdiction over Monaco) and Deena Joy Dy Amatong to Laos.

Also confirmed were Enrico Trinidad Fos as ambassador to Norway (with concurrent jurisdiction over Iceland), Marie Charlotte Golim Tang for Kenya (with concurrent jurisdiction over Democratic Republic of Congo, Republic of Congo, Malawi, Seychelles, Somalia, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and Comoros), Marian Jocelyn Tirol-Ignacio for Brunei and Igor Garlit Bailen for Russia (with concurrent jurisdiction over Belarus and Kazakhstan).

The CA also confirmed the ad interim appointments for promotion of the following members of the diplomatic corps: Narciso Teodoro Castañeda, Gina Alagon Jamoralin, Nina Padilla Cainglet, Maria Theresa Sta. Maria Lazaro, Porfirio Maralit Mayo Jr. and Ivan Frank Modequillo Olea.

Also promoted were Arvic Ventura Arevalo, Melanie Rita Balisi Diano, Mary Jennifer Domingo Dingal, Bryan Dexter Burgos Lao, Leah Victoria Carada Rodriguez and Rachel Anne Lindain Oronce.
