MANILA, Philippines — British Ambassador Daniel Pruce welcomed yesterday the opening of a Jollibee store at London’s West End, the UK capital’s world famous theater district.
“Congratulations to @Jollibee on the opening of your latest restaurant in the UK – bring #chickenjoy to Leicester Square,” Pruce said in a post on Twitter.
The flagship store began operations Thursday in Leicester Square.
Jollibee Foods Corp. president and CEO Ernesto Tanmantiong earlier said the franchise continues to expand in Europe and in many parts of the world as part of its overall goal to be among the top five food companies.
“Bringing Jollibee to London’s West End is part of our continued commitment to expand in Europe and bring our delicious crispy Chickenjoy to more people around the world,” Tanmantiong said.
The company has sold over three million pieces of chicken to the British people so far and this is set to rise to 15 million by the end of 2022.
Jollibee intends to have 50 stores across Europe, including its first restaurant in Spain, by 2025.
