43 PhilHealth officials resign
MANILA, Philippines — Heeding the directive of Philippine Health Insurance Corp. president Dante Gierran, 43 ranking PhilHealth officials have opted to retire or resign from their posts.
PhilHealth reported that 27 senior officers have tendered their resignation while 16 others opted for retirement as of last night.
“(These) senior officers from Salary Grade 26 and above (have) tendered their courtesy resignation,” PhilHealth announced in a statement.
Among those who resigned are 21 officers from the central office in Manila while six are from regional offices, PhilHealth said.
On Sept. 30, Gierran issued a memorandum implementing a 2019 PhilHealth Board Resolution calling for the courtesy resignation of all officials holding Salary Grade (SG) 26 and above posts.
Gierran said the memorandum is in accordance with the directive of President Duterte to cleanse PhilHealth of corrupt practices.
There are 66 PhilHealth executives holding SG 26 and higher posts.
According to the Civil Service Commission, PhilHealth assistant vice presidents and department managers fall under SG 26, receiving at least ?109,593 per month, while vice presidents, who fall under SG 27, receive at least P123,839 a month.
