MANILA, Philippines — Five more Filipinos were found to have been injured in the explosions that shook Lebanon’s capital, Beirut, last week, raising the total number of those hurt to 47 from the previous 42, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said yesterday.
Citing a report of the Philippine embassy in Beirut, the DFA said the injuries sustained by the Filipinos are “not life-threatening.”
Two Filipinos are still missing following the explosion.
The DFA prepares to bring home this week the remains of four Filipinos who perished in the blast.
A chartered flight will also bring home some 400 overseas Filipino workers.
