MANILA, Philippines (Update 2, 11:07 pm., March 15) — The World Health Organization sounded another global alarm on Wednesday, officially declaring the new coronavirus that has infected more than 156,000 people and killed 5,800 across the world a pandemic.
In the Philippines, there are 12 recorded deaths and 140 confirmed cases since the country first reported an infection in late January.
There are concerns that the number of infected people may be higher due to the country’s very limited testing program and that it has spread to other parts of the country.
