Taiwan travel agencies donate to Damayan
Fund drive nears P7 Million
MANILA, Philippines — Donations continued to pour in for Philstar Operation Damayan’s ongoing fund drive for evacuee-families in Batangas.
Hazel Javier and Luisa Llave, representatives of the Department of Tourism, sent in remittances totaling P232,080 from travel tour operators in Taiwan on Thursday.
Also through the efforts of DOT’s Daphne and Angel Tseng, the tour operators banded together to help out families displaced by the Taal Volcano eruption, and opted to course their assistance through STAR’s Operation Damayan.

The Damayan fund drive for Taal now totals P6.97 million.
Aside from anonymous donations in amounts of P3,000, P500, 25 pieces of N95 masks, and an Android tablet, Damayan accepted various items from donor Catherine Pelonia and assorted shirts from Mag-1 Synthetic Oil USA that were distributed during relief operations on Thursday.
The Damayan team is slated to conduct follow-up relief operations in Batangas in the coming week.
