MANILA, Philippines — PAGASA said Typhoon Hanna continues to intensify as it heads towards the southern Ryukyu Islands in Japan.
The state weather bureau advised the public that the typhoon would continue to bring moderate to heavy monsoon rains over some parts of the country.
Some local government units were then prompted to call off some classes due to the anticipated bad weather.
A number of Catholic schools, meanwhile, declared class suspensions in observance of the feast day of St. Dominic de Guzman, the founder of the Order of Friars Preachers.
Here’s a running list of class suspensions for August 8 (Can't view the LIVE list? Click here.)
