16 Chinese tourists rescued in Boracay

MANILA, Philippines — Sixteen Chinese tourists were rescued after their boat collided with another boat off Boracay on Thursday, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said yesterday.

The MCA LMJ was on an island hopping activity when it collided with the FB Jin Ju and capsized at 2:55 p.m. some 50 meters from Bolabog Beach in Malay, Aklan. 

All the tourists on MCA LMJ were rescued by the PCG and taken to the Ciriaco S. Tirol Hospital for treatment. They sustained minor injuries from the accident, the PCG reported.

The captains of the two boats were brought to the PCG headquarters for investigation.
