MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) is monitoring a potential low-pressure area that may develop into a tropical depression.
PAGASA weather specialist Ariel Rojas said the low-pressure area was located east of the country and is still outside the Philippine area of responsibility. “This will possibly intensify the southwest monsoon,” he added.
PAGASA has been monitoring a low-pressure area located 460 kilometers of Virac, Catanduanes. The said low-pressure area will not develop into a tropical depression.
“Pangasinan, Zambales and Bataan will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms because of the southwest monsoon,” read the PAGASA bulletin.
Meanwhile, the Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Caraga and Davao Region will experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the trough of the low-pressure area.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers brought by localized thunderstorms.
