MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Justice has sent out subpoenas to the respondents of criminal charges in connection to the "Bikoy" narco list videos.

The Philippine National Police earlier filed sedition and other charges against Vice President Leni Robredo over the "Ang Totoong Narco List" video series that went viral earlier this year.

The DOJ confirmed that the summons have been sent to the respondents Friday and that the preliminary investigation is set on August 9 at 10 a.m., according to a report from The STAR.

Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra had assured the public of a fair resolution of the complaint.

"I assure everyone of utmost fairness on the resolution of this case. The evidence, or the lack of it, will speak for itself," Guevarra said in a statement.

The DOJ chief appealed to the public to wait until the process is completed. — Patricia Lourdes Viray
