CHED welcomes new commissioner
MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) has welcomed the appointment of De La Salle University official Aldrin Darilag as new commissioner of the five-member body.
CHED chairman J. Prospero de Vera III said the appointment of Darilag, who is recognized for his expertise in research and curriculum development, would significantly strengthen the commission.
Darilag, a long-time academician, is currently the human resources director at De La Salle Philippines and heads the Human Resources Commission of the Lasallian Network.
He is also a former associate professorial lecturer at De La Salle University-Manila, vice president for academic services at St. Paul University-Surigao and vice president for research, planning and extension services at Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Marikina.
De Vera said Darilag’s other areas of expertise include academic administration, research management, instructional supervision and management of extension programs and linkages.
Darilag will serve the unexpired term of De Vera, who was promoted to chairman last year, until July 21, 2020.
Darilag finished his PhD in Education at De La Salle University-Manila, where he also earned units for PhD in science education and took his Master of Education degree.
He also earned a Master of Science in Medical Technology at the University of Santo Tomas as well as baccalaureate degrees in Nursing and Medical Technology.
He will join De Vera and commissioners Perfecto Alibin, Ronald Adamat and Lilian delas Llagas at the CHED.
