MANILA, Philippines — This year marks the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Republic of Korea.

To celebrate the milestone, President Duterte and South Korean President Moon Jae-in mutually agreed to designate 2019 as the “Year of Mutual Exchange of Philippines and Korea” during the Korea-Philippine summit held on June 4 last year.

Korea’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) signed a memorandum of understanding for the promotion of the “Year of Mutual Exchange” in which the two countries agreed to pursue cultural exchange projects in the two capitals and major cities.
