‘Sana all': Catriona Gray wants to promote entire Philippines
MANILA, Philippines — “Sana all.”
That is what Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray said when asked which particular place in the Philippines she likes to focus on promoting.
During her courtesy call to Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, Gray said that she wanted to boost the tourism of the country through her own ways, as the country’s fourth Miss Universe.
“Promoting the Philippines has been something I'm really passionate about mainly because I feel like if people only knew what we have to offer the level of interest will spike. And I feel like we have so much potential to share that with the rest of the world,” Gray said in a short speech after her courtesy call to Puyat on Tuesday.
“I hope that in my own way of being Miss Universe 2018 I could work in promoting the Philippines not only through fashion but in every facet that I can,” she added.
During her press conference last week, Gray said she also wanted to promote tourism in Mindanao citing its “beautifully rich culture.”
The part-Australian Filipina beauty previously promoted the country by releasing three tourism videos about Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao before she competed for Miss Universe last December.
For Mindanao, Gray featured the “Land of the Dreamweavers,” South Cotabato.

Gray has also been sporting Filipino textiles and even carried the whole Philippines in her “LuzViMinda” national costume for the pageant.
Meanwhile, Puyat personally commended Gray’s efforts to promote the country. She also gave her token after the courtesy call.
Last week, the Tourism chief disclosed that President Rodrigo Duterte wanted to tap Gray as a tourism envoy after her reign as Miss Universe.
