‘Narco’ list to be released before 2019 midterm elections — Eduardo Año
MANILA, Philippines — Interior Secretary Eduardo Año said the list that contains the names of politicians involved in the illegal drug trade would be released to the public before the midterm elections in May, following President Duterte’s pronouncement.
Año, in an interview over dzBB, said the narco list must be released so the voting public would be guided when they go to polling places on May 13.
He admitted though that he is yet to meet and coordinate with his counterpart in the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) for the releasing of the list.
The chief of the Department of the Interior and Local Government noted that the list is composed mostly of mayors who are involved in the drug trade, although this is still undergoing validation.
