MANILA, Philippines — National Artist for Architecture Francisco Mañosa died on Wednesday, about a week after his 88th birthday.
Historian Xiao Chua confirmed Mañosa’s death in an Instagram post.
According to a statement from the Cultural Center of the Philippines, Mañosa passed away due to a "lingering illness."
He was recognized as a National Artist of the Philippines for Architecture in 2018.
He is most known for his work using Filipino elements in his designs.
Some of his most notable works include the San Miguel Corporation's Headquarters in Ortigas and the Coconut Palace.
The CCP said they will hold a necrological service for the architect. — Ryan Macasero
