MANILA, Philippines — A heavy (red) rainfall warning was issued over Cebu, Bohol and southern Leyte by state weather bureau PAGASA on Friday afternoon.

The weather system is the tail end of a cold front and has brought continuous rainfall over the three areas.

A torrential (red) rainfall warning means a volume of eight gallons per square meter per hour.

The warning said to expect serious flooding  in low-lying areas and landslides in mountainous areas.

The rainfall warning comes days after Tropical Depression Usman devastated the Bicol Region and parts of the Eastern Visayas.

At least 105 were killed in the storm, while estimates peg agricultural damage in the Bicol region at P326 million. Almost P10 million in assistance has been disbursed by various government agencies for relief and recovery operations in affected areas. — Ryan Macasero
