MANILA, Philippines — Former special assistant to the president Christopher Go has lauded the Philippine National Police (PNP) for braving all kinds of dangers in support of President Duterte’s agenda to fight corruption, crime and illegal drugs, and in ensuring a better future for the next generation.

“You have an important role in protecting our children and ensuring there’s a good future for them,” Go told members of the police force last Friday.

Go added that the courage and commitment of the police to ensure peace and order in support of the administration’s reform agenda are important so that economic progress will be felt and enjoyed by every Filipino.

“You are relied upon to maintain peace and order to ensure economic progress,” he said. “Businesses can’t prosper if our streets are not safe.”

Go also congratulated graduates of the National Police Training Institute (NPTI) who underwent and finished the Public Safety Basic Recruit Course (PSBRC).

The PSBRC is one of the training programs conducted by the NPTI. It is a 24-week intensive and progressive training program designed for newly appointed police and non-commissioned officers to provide them with basic knowledge and skills in police science, administration, combat operation and tactics.

During his speech at the graduation of ‘PSBRC RTC3 Class 2018-01 ALPHA TO JULIET’ in Magalang, Pampanga, Go also encouraged the graduates to not stop seeking new knowledge as they play a vital role in keeping the country safe and secure.

“Always keep enhancing your knowledge and seek to improve it because the government needs you to be highly competent and committed,” Go said.
