MANILA, Philippines — President Duterte has designated Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process Jesus Dureza and veteran journalist Ramon Tulfo as special envoys to the European Union and China, respectively.
Dureza took the place of the late Senate president Edgardo Angara. His term would have started July 1 but the Palace order was dated Oct. 23. It will end on Dec. 31.
Angara held the post until his death last May.
Malacañang also released the appointment papers of Tulfo as special envoy to China for a term of six months.
Duterte likewise appointed current PTV 4 head of operation and longtime broadcast journalist Raquel Tobias as undersecretary of the Presidential Communications Operations Office.
Other appointees were: Myra Paz Abubakar as assistant secretary of the Department of Tourism; Nenita Failon, Thea Marie Palarca and Nenita Failon as directors 4 of the Department of Budget and Management; and Albert Mogol as director 2 of the Office of Civil Defense of the Department of National Defense.
Also appointed were Nelson Manaloto as director 2 of the Land Transportation Office; Henry Comel Jr. and Noel Flores as provincial trade and industry officer, Department of Trade and Industry; Lester Fiel as senior state prosecutor and Joel Caminade as member of the Board of Trustees of the Asian Productivity Organization (APO) Production Unit Inc.
