Former journalist Jiggy Manicad runs for senator

MANILA, Philippines — Veteran news anchor and reporter Jiggy Manicad will seek a Senate seat next year.

Days after being announced as a prospective senatorial candidate under the ruling PDP-Laban party, Manicad announced his exit from his news program last April.

The former television reporter said he would go to the “next level of public service.”
