MANILA, Philippines — Consumers will see an increase in the prices of cooking gas and auto liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) this month on the back of higher prices in the global market.

LPG supplier Solane will increase its price by P2.11 per kilogram while Petron Corp. by P2.35 per kilogram effective 6 a.m. today.

Auto LPG prices will be higher by P1.30 per liter  effective 12:01 a.m. today.

The increases reflect the movement in international market of contract price, oil firms said.

Petron, however, said LPG prices will not be increased in areas under state of calamity.

A state of calamity was declared in the provinces of Ifugao last Sept. 15; Cagayan, Abra, Benguet, Kalinga on Sept. 16; Ilocos Norte and Isabela, Sept. 18 following Typhoon Ompong.

Other companies have yet to announce their respective price adjustments as of yesterday.
