Duterte confers Order of Lapu-Lapu on 10 soldiers
DAVAO CITY, Philippines – President Duterte conferred the Order of Lapu-Lapu with the rank of Kampilan on 10 soldiers who led various military engagements in Northern Mindanao.
The President visited the wounded soldiers and civilians at the Camp Evangelista Station Hospital in Cagayan de Oro City to check on their condition and boost their morale.
He also assured them they would get the help they need from government agencies.
The soldiers were Private Jerome Radoc, CAA Raymond Quillano, Cpl. Gabie Jun Cabajes III, Private First Class (PFC ) Aldrie Calayca, Private Joeberto Laguna, PFC Junling Espinosa, PFC Renie Gerzon, Pvt. John Paul Tapayan, Pvt. Vic Berlon and SSg. Manny Valdez.
The injured civilians were Lito Tayco and Jimmy Unabia.
During his visit, President Duterte had a friendly chat with the wounded troops and civilians.
The award is given to officials, government personnel and private individuals severely wounded or who suffered a significant loss of property as a direct result of their participation in an action supporting a campaign or advocacy of the President.
Duterte also provided each awardee with a mobile phone, financial assistance, Caliber .45 and a watch.
