LIVE: Senate probe into Boracay closure
MANILA, Philippines— The Senate committee on environment and natural resources has conducted an inquiry into the Boracay island closure.
The Senate panel is leading the hearing with other committees, tourism and local government.
These Senate committees would discuss the following resolutions:
P.S. Res. No. 313 – Zero Tourism Waste Policy
P.S. Res. No. 393 – Degradation and Pollution of Prime Island Beach Destinations and Other Coastal Recreation Waters
P.S. Res. No. 633 – Severe Pollution in Boracay
P.S. Res. No. 640 – Non-Compliance with the Environmental Laws, Rules and Regulations by Numerous Boracay Establishments
P.S. Res. No. 715 – Administration’s Order to Close Off Boracay Island for Six Months
P.S. Res. No. 646 – Procedures for the Approval and Monitoring of Environmentally Critical Projects
P.S. Res. No. 14 - Environmental Laws Compliance
