Casino player becomes multimillionaire while passing time

MANILA, Philippines — From P2,000 to P36 million. 

A 31-year-old operations manager recently became a multimillionaire following a chance visit at a casino in Pasay City.

The man won the jackpot prize of a Duo Fu Duo Cai machine in Resorts World Manila (RWM) while he was killing time following a cancelled meeting. 

According to RWM, the lucky winner was only on his third visit at the casino. 

“I had P2,000 worth of slot credits for that day and was just (planning) to play (with) that amount,” the man was quoted as saying. 

Fifteen minutes later, he became an unexpected multi-millionaire. 

RWM said the man won P50,000 during the first five minutes of playing. 

A couple of spins later, the bonus game appeared and three matching characters revealed that he had won the jackpot prize.

“I was stunned. I even had to call a slot machine assistant to verify I really did win the jackpot,” the man said. 

The man said he intends to pay off his housing and car loans with his winnings.

RWM chief integrated marketing officer Martin Paz said the man’s story is not unique. 

“We have a lot of these life-changing stories happening around the resort everyday,” he said. “This only proves that luck can smile on you anytime, any day.”
