MANILA, Philippines — As Boracay island marks the third month of closure to pave way for its rehabilitation, the lead agency of the Boracay Inter-Agency Task Force, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources shared photos of its efforts to restore the island’s natural state.

In an album posted on its Facebook page, DENR showed the collaborative efforts of the member agencies of the task force which include the cleanup of the beach and wetlands, road widening, fixing the sewerage system, and waste management, among others.

Aside from environmental rehabilitation, the task force also helped the residents through cash for work programs.
