MANILA, Philippines — A stamp commemorating the 120th anniversary of Philippine Independence will be released on Tuesday, the Philippine Postal Corp. (PHLPost) said yesterday.

The commemorative stamp features the colors of the Philippine flag and a silhouette scene of men and women proudly waving the Philippine flag and native bolos during the revolution against colonial forces.

There is also an image of a shining sun with three stars around it, symbolizing the freedom gained because of the sacrifices made by Filipino revolutionary forces.

PHLPost’s graphic artist Rodine Teodoro designed the commemorative stamp, which will be sold at P12 per piece.

PHLPost said 50,000 copies of the single stamp design and 3,000 pieces of first day cover envelopes were printed to highlight Philippine Independence Day.

The stamps and its official first day cover will be available starting June 12 at Door 203 of the Central Post Office, Liwasang Bonifacio, Manila and selected post offices nationwide.
