MANILA, Philippines — The camp of Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno is considering to appeal the decision of the Supreme Court to declare her appointment as void.

Voting 8-6, the high court voted to oust Sereno over failure to meet the "integrity test" of her position.

Josa Deinla, Sereno's legal counsel, insisted that the SC's decision was wrong.

"Now we are definitely considering filing a motion for reconsideration," Deinla told radio dzMM shortly after the decision came out.

"Until the end, the chief justice is hoping that they (justices) will do what is right," Deinla added.

The justices who voted in favor of the quo warranto filed by Solicitor General Jose Calida were Associate Justices Noel Tijam, Teresita De Castro, Lucas Bersamin, Francis Jardeleza, Samuel Martires, Andres Reyes Jr. and Alexander Gesmundo.

The dissenting votes were Associate Justices Estela Bernabe, Alfredo Benjamin Caguioa, Presbitero Jose Velasco Jr., Mariano Del Castillo, Marvic Leonen and Antonio Carpio.
