LIVE: Senate hearing on Benham Rise

MANILA, Philippines — The Senate Committee on Science Technology and Committee on Energy will hold a joint hearing the exploration studies on Benham Rise and the West Philippine Sea.

Local scientists, top military and government officials are expected to attend the inquiry to discuss the research conducted by China on Benham or Philippine Rise.

The Senate inquiry will also tackle the state of marine research by Filipino scientists as they present their findings while government officials will discuss their plans for the undersea region off the coast of Aurora province.
