MANILA, Philippines — Six Special Action Force (SAF) police commandos were wounded and four others still missing following an ambush staged by suspected New People’s Army (NPA) rebels in Antipolo City, Rizal yesterday.?Police said the wounded police officers were members of the 33rd Special Action Company of SAF. 

They were identified as PO2s Brendo Cariño, Reymar Guevarra, Mark Andrew, Gran Omines, Joseph Alberca and Ryan Gonzales. They were taken to Rizal Provincial Hospital System in Antipolo City. The SAF men led by Insp. Judediah Tuan were waylaid by the rebels near a public cemetery in Sitio San Josef, Barangay San Jose around 6:30 a.m., police said.

Later in the afternoon, one of the five commandos reported missing was located safe.
