MANGATAREM, Pangasinan, Philippines — The Marcos family is “bored, irritated and annoyed” over the pending resolution of the election protest filed by Ferdinand Marcos Jr. against Vice President Leni Robredo, Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos said yesterday.

During the civic parade for the town fiesta celebration yesterday, Imee told reporters that her family cannot do anything but pity Marcos Jr. and claimed that her brother is the vice president.

Robredo defeated the dictator’s namesake by a slim margin of votes in the 2016 vice presidential race. Marcos Jr. claimed there was an irregularity.

Imee said her family experienced so much hardship in her brother’s poll protest because it is taking so long.

Inot-inot talag eh ang bagal bagal (It is so slow and dragging),” she added.

But Imee said her family is still adhering to the process of the law.

She also said her brother does not express his feelings about the delayed resolution of his poll protest.

Hindi sya nag e-emote. Mabait siya, mas mabait pa sa akin (He does not emote. He is kind, kinder than me),” she added.

Imee said her brother reiterated that he would not run for senator in the 2019 elections even if he is among the strong candidates based on a survey.

“He has said that why should he run (for senator) since he is the vice president?” she added.

Imee said she visited Pangasinan to thank the people for making her brother the vice president last election and for their support for the Marcos family.

She is now on her last term as governor of Ilocos Norte. Her aide told The STAR that Marcos is set to visit Iloilo after Pangasinan.

When asked to comment on speculations that she is attending activities outside Ilocos Norte because she is planning to run for senator, Imee said: “Uso pa ba yung Senate? Akala ko a-abolish na (Is the Senate still relevant? I thought it will be abolished.)”

“Bahala na, tignan natin (Whatever, let’s see),” she added.
