MANILA, Philippines — President Duterte yesterday took a break from public engagements and went to an upscale mall in Makati to buy a backpack.
A source close to Duterte said the President went to Greenbelt 5 to look for a backpack where he can keep his gun magazines. The President ended up buying a backpack manufactured by American brand Tumi.
Accompanied by his security aides, Duterte was mobbed by shoppers during the mall visit, online photos showed.
The President also ate in a Filipino restaurant.
Duterte visited Hospicio de San Jose and the Fabella and Mary Johnston hospitals in Manila, according to his spokesman Harry Roque.
The visits were closed to the media.
