Jaime Laude - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Veteran radio broadcaster Joe Taruc Jr., whose voice had dominated the airwaves for decades, signed off yesterday at the age of 70 due to a lingering illness.

Host of the dzRH early morning radio show “Damdaming Bayan” as well as ‘Pangunahin Balita,’ one of the longest-running public affairs radio programs, Taruc left three sons and a daughter.

He had been confined at the St. Luke’s Medical Center in Taguig City for a few weeks.

Interment details will be announced by his son Jay, also a journalist.
