The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — The University of Santo Tomas on Friday attempted to rewrite history for breaking the Guinness world record for the largest human sentence formation.

An estimated number of 16,729 Thomasians gathered at the UST football field to break the record set by India in 2016.

In celebration of the World Teacher’s Day, the participants formed the sentence, “My teacher is my hero!”

Guinness has yet to confirm if UST successfully sets a new world record.

In 2011, UST made it to Guinness for forming the largest human cross after 13,266 Thomasians participated in the event.

India currently holds the record for largest human sentence with 16,550 participants.

The largest human sentence consists of 16,550 participants, achieved by Rotary International District 3000, Rotary Club of Perambalur New Gen, and Roever Group of Educational Institutions (all India), in Perambalur, India, on 10 August 2016.
