MANILA, Philippines — September 21, commonly acknowledged as the 45th anniversary of the declaration of martial law in the country, has been declared as a "day of protest."

Several protests calling for an end to tyranny will be held at the Commission on Human Rights in Quezon City, at the Mendiola peace arch and Luneta Park in Manila.

Supporters of President Rodrigo Duterte are also set to hold their own activities in Plaza Miranda and Don Chino Roces Bridge near Malacañang.

Several schools nationwide including those from Cagayan Valley, Baguio City, Laguna, Palawan, Central Luzon, Bicol, Iloilo, Cebu, Leyte, Iligan, Davao and Socsksargen will hold simultaneous protests as part of the "gathering against tyranny."
