Typhoon Talim to enter PAR Monday afternoon
MANILA, Philippines — A typhoon with the international name "Talim" located 1,300 kilometers east of northern Luzon is expected to enter the Philippine area of responsibility Monday afternoon, state weather bureau PAGASA said.
The weather disturbance, which is still outside PAR has no direct effect yet in any part of the country.
The typhoon will be named "Lannie" once it enters PAR. It is expected to move generally west northwest in the direction of extreme northern Luzon-Taiwan area.
PAGASA warned that the typhoon is likely to intensify further.
Meanwhile, a low pressure area east of Bicol is expected to bring moderate to occasionally heavy rains over Visayas, Southern Luzon, Central Luzon and Metro Manila until Tuesday.
At 10 a.m., the LPA was located 400 kilometers east of Quezon province.
"Flashflood and landslides is expected over Bicol region and the provinces of Zambales and Aurora," the state weather bureau said.
Up to four cyclones are predicted to enter the country this month.
