MANILA, Philippines — Various groups on Saturday threw a “party” for the centennial birth anniversary of late strongman Ferdinand Marcos Sr.
Artist group Respond and Break the Silence Against the Killings, urban poor organization Kadamay, and social media group Temperamental Brats staged the “blow-out” party at Tomato Kick in Quezon City. These groups previously joined the protests against Marcos’ hero’s burial.

The mock celebration was held two days before the 100th birthday of Marcos on Monday, September 11.
Several performers and bands were present to join in the mock party. These are Tubaw, Beast Jesus, Tukar Sinati, Calix x Skinbones, BLKD x The Tooters, The General Strike, Tulala at Lakbay Adik, Emar Industriya, Carlito Guarin, Khalil Verzosa, Gazeram and Kimm, among others.
The groups said they held the party to condemn President Rodrigo Duterte’s policies which recognize Marcos as a hero. They also oppose martial law.
Duterte ordered Marcos’ burial at the Heroes' Cemetery and recently declared September 11 a holiday in Ilocos Norte to mark the late dictator's 100th birthday.
