Bong Revilla wants another furlough for dental procedures
MANILA, Philippines — Former Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. has again asked the Sandiganbayan to allow him to leave his detention next week to undergo dental procedures.
In his four-page motion filed before the anti-graft court's First Division, Revilla, through his lawyers, asked that he be allowed to leave his detention cell at the Philippine National Police Custodial Center in Camp Crame, Quezon City on August 25 for a routine dental check up and restoration of cavities procedures.
Revilla said the check-up and restoration procedures are scheduled at 2 p.m. at Gan Advanced Osseointegration Center located at the ground floor of The Residences, Greenbelt Center in Makati City.
Revilla said his dentist Steve Mark Gan advised that he undergoes the check-up and the restoration procedures after completing his tooth implant surgeries last March and April.
“Accused is very much appreciative of this Honorable Court for kindly allowing him in his previous motions to undergo medical check-ups and treatment,” Revilla's motion read.
“While accused does not intend to abuse this Honorable Court's liberality, accused again humbly beseeches this Honorable Court's compassion to permit him to undergo the foregoing dental procedure,” it added.
Aside from previously allowing Revilla to undergo dental procedures, the First Division also granted his motion in June to visit for two days his 90-year-old father, former Senator Ramon Revilla Sr. at St. Luke's Medical Center in Taguig City.
The younger Revilla is detained at the PNP Custodial Center since June 2014 for plunder and graft charges in connection with his alleged involvement in the multibillion-peso pork barrel fund scam.
