MANILA, Philippines — Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano, sitting as chair of the 7th East Asia Summit (EAS) Foreign Ministers' Meeting, released a statement following a meeting in Manila last Tuesday.

The foreign ministers reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen the EAS as a leaders-led forum for dialogue on issues of common concern.

In the statement, the ministers expressed concern on regional and international issues including the developments in the South China Sea, Korean Peninsula and the threat of terrorism.

Among the members of the EAS are Australia, Brunei, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, New Zealand, the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, the United States and Vietnam.
