Abella: Duterte’s SONA speech to last about 1.5 hours
MANILA, Philippines — Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella on Sunday said President Rodrigo Duterte’s speech for his second State of the Nation Address would last for about 1.5 hours.
The estimated hour and thirty minutes, according to Abella, already includes allowances for pauses for applause and the president's off-the-cuff-remarks.
Abella said Duterte’s SONA speech is written in English, which the president is comfortable with.
The presidential spokesperson described Duterte’s SONA speech as “frank, challenging, realistic but hopeful.”
“The President’s State of the Nation Address will be rendered in broad strokes reviewing past achievements, stating the present situation and announcing future prospects,” Abella said in a press statement.
Abella said Duterte’s speech would be made available to the public online shortly after he speaks.
Last year, Duterte’s SONA speech also lasted for about an hour and a half.
