LPG prices rolled back today
MANILA, Philippines - Consumers will see lower liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices today, reflecting lower contract prices in July.
In an advisory, Petron Corp. said the firm will roll back Gasul and Fiesta Gas prices by P1.65 per kilogram effective 12:01 a.m. today.
At the same time, Petron said it would likewise decrease Xtend AutoLPG price by 92 centavos per liter.
“These reflect movements in the international contract prices of LPG for the month of July,” the oil firm said.
Other LPG retailers have yet to announce their respective price cuts.
Prior to the price rollback, an 11-kilogram cylinder was priced from P470 to P560, data from the Department of Energy showed.
Last March, oil firms declared a rollback of as much as P4 per kilo in LPG prices. The cut is equal to a P44 reduction in the price of the company’s 11-kilogram tank.
The department continues to urge the public to ensure that every LPG cylinder they buy is of the right quantity and quality.
Based on DOE guidelines, consumers should buy LPG cylinders with proper markings like brand name, tare weight, etc. from authorized outlets.
Consumers should also check the cylinder for rust and dents, collar and foot ring are smooth and properly welded and the seal is intact and firmly affixed to the valve.
