MANILA, Philippines — Blogger Margaux "Mocha" Uson said on Wednesday that she will be handling the woes of the Overseas Filipino Workers once she starts working as the assistant secretary of the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO).

In an interview with the CNN on Wednesday, Uson said that OFWs have been complaining of the slow process and response of different Philippine agencies through hotlines and emails.

She added that OFWs said they would rather air their sentiments and complaints on social media platform.

"Yun po yung aasikasuhin ko po, yung sa social media na mailapit po ang ating pamahalaan, ang bawat ahensya ng ating gobyerno, sa ating mga OFWs through social media," Uson said.

She said she still has to talk to PCOO Secretary Martin Andanar as to the details of her job, as well as her first day of work.

On Monday, President Rodrigo Duterte appointed Uson to the post as shown in the appointment papers released to the media on Tuesday.

Uson said that she will have to relinquish her position as a board member of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) prior to working to the PCOO.

Despite criticisms, Uson said she respects the opinion of the public since Filipinos have the right to speak.

"Ang akin po, nakikinig naman po ako eh as long as constructive criticism naman po," Uson said.

"Naka-focus po tayo dun sa mga nangangailangan ng tulong at hindi yung mga naninira lang," she added.

Uson is a staunch supporter of Duterte, who uses her Facebook page Mocha Uson Blog to promote and defend the president and his campaigns.

She was designated as MTRCB board member last December, and was also appointed as Metro Manila Film Fest ambassador.
