MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Justice (DOJ) ordered the Bureau of Immigration to issue an immigration lookout bulletin order (ILBO) against the owners of Mighty Corp.

In a memorandum, DOJ Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre ordered Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente to put Chinese businessman Alex Dy Wongchuking, president of Mighty Corp. and his brother Caesar under an ILBO.

Under the ILBO, immigration officers are mandated to immediately inform the Office of the Justice Secretary if people on a lookout list try to leave the countr.

Aguirre issued the ILBO after President Rodrigo Duterte ordered the arrest of Alex for charges of tax evasion and economic sabotage.

Last February, the Bureau of International Revenue (BIR) seized 82,902 Mighty cigarettes with fake stamps in Cebu.

According to the BIR estimates, tax leakages caused by the proliferation of fake tax stamps have reached P10 billion to P15 billion annually.
