LIST: Senate guest list for ‘Davao Death Squad’ probe

MANILA, Philippines — The Senate Committee on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs on Monday started its hearing into the Davao Death Squad (DDS) probe.

Former SPO3 Arturo “Arthur” Lascañas is facing the Senate panel to tell all of his knowledge regarding the supposed death squad founded by President Rodrigo Duterte.

This is the second time Lascañas is appearing before the Senate body. He was previously named by another self-confessed hitman, Edgar Matobato, as a member of the DDS but he denied its existence.

Lascañas recently retracted his statement and said he previously lied under the order of SPO4 Sonny Buenaventura.

The following names have confirmed their attendance at the Senate hearing:

  • Philippine National Police (PNP) Director General Ronald Dela Rosa

  • PNP Internal Affairs Service Alfegar Triambulo as represented by Police Director  Leo Angelo Leuterio and lawyer Ma. Lynnberg Constantinopla

  • Commission on Human Rights Chair Jose Luis Manuel Gascon represented by Ma. Janina Belen, Management Officer, Policy Office

  • SPO3 Arturo Lascanas whose legal counsel is provided for by the Office of Sen. Antonio “Sonny” Trillanes IV

  • Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo represented by observer lawyer Darren Salipsip
